St. Paul Members Serving at the Local Soup Kitchen
St. Paul Lutheran members serve meals regularly at the Frederick Community Action Agency.  St. Paul members provide the food and staff  for Sunday dinners on months with five Sundays.
This is done as a service project by one or more of the organizations of the church.  The coordinating organization or individuals plan a menu, then post a sign-up sheet a few weeks before the 5th Sunday.  The sign-up sheet provides members an opportunity to provide donations of the menu items and to volunteer their time to serve at the kitchen.  This service opportunity is open to all the membership both young and old.  At about 4:15 PM on Sunday they meet at the church to car pool to the kitchen in Frederick or just meet at the soup kitchen at about 4:30 PM
Upon arriving at the kitchen there are numerous preparation tasks to be completed prior to 5:30 PM when the clients are served.  These include cooking, preparing the food and dining room.  Typically food is provided for about 100 individuals and families.
Everyone gets an opportunity to help with preparation or working on the serving  line.  After everyone has been served, the dishes are done and the kitchen and dining hall are cleaned.   Usually everything is completed by 7:30 PM.
This event is an ideal opportunity to serve others in need and share in Christian fellowship at the same time.

On some occasions there's time to stop working long enough for a group photo.
