St. Paul Youth (SPY)

The youth program here at St. Paul Lutheran Church welcomes all middle school and high school youth to gather in fellowship, service, and worship together in many ways. Below are some of our regularly occurring events, but this is an active and ever growing and changing ministry so be sure to keep up to date with our events by checking out our online calendar. In addition to these organized youth events our youth are actively involved with the church’s other ministries.

SPY Meetings

We hold regular SPY meetings every two weeks on Sunday nights from 6-8 PM. Spy meetings are a great way to relax and enjoy fellowship in a friendly and safe environment.

Annual Retreats

The Delaware-Maryland synod’s Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) hosts several retreats throughout the year; including FreeRide for middle school youth and RoadTrip for high school youth. These retreats form small groups out of members of congregations from across the synod and provide opportunities for small group bible studies, service projects, and large group gatherings with music, speakers, and worship.

Retreats are an excellent way to create or strengthen relationships with God, with our friends, and with people we meet for the first time.

Mission Trips

Camp Hope is a ministry of the United Methodist Church that sends Christian youth work teams to Allegany County during the summer to rehabilitate housing of those in need.  Camp Hope is an acronym for Christian Appalachian Mountain Project, Helping Other People Enthusiastically.  A youth group from the Jefferson area churches typically participates during the fourth full week in July.
